About the Winery
Founded in 2001 in Fair Play, Toogood Estate Winery centers its program on estate-grown wines and ports, with a notably wide varietal range that includes Iberian, Italian, Rhône, Bordeaux, and other grapes. Rather than narrowing the experience to one lane, the winery presents a broad cross-section of what its estate program can support, from Touriga Nacional and Tinta Cao to Barbera, Syrah, and Tempranillo.
The visit is shaped by two distinct settings: tastings inside the winery’s 5,000-square-foot wine cave or flights on the Waterfall Patio. Guided tastings are offered daily, while events and barrel tastings are handled by reservation, giving guests room to keep things straightforward or spend more time exploring the range.

Toogood helps to know in advance because the lineup is not built around just a few familiar grapes. Estate wines and ports both play a major role here, so the tasting can move across a wider stylistic range than many Fair Play stops.
A good approach is to let the tasting build gradually rather than trying to map it out too tightly from the start. If something less common catches your eye—especially among the Portuguese or Italian varieties—it is worth following that thread and seeing where the lineup takes you.
