Myka Estates
Winery Overview
Myka Estates was founded in 2009 by winemaker Mica Raas and later moved from the Central Coast to El Dorado County, where the winery found a broader range of elevations, soils, and microclimates to explore. Its wines connect cool-climate varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with Sierra Foothills reds including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Rhône-inspired blends.
The Apple Hill tasting room sits just off Highway 50 in Placerville, with panoramic foothill views, gardens, veranda seating, and a patio-oriented experience. Guests can taste through Myka Estates wines as well as related labels such as 1850 Wine Cellars and RhoneWolf, with food pairings available for a more leisurely visit.
Before You Go
Myka is a good stop if you want one tasting room with several wine directions to compare. Expect a range that may move from Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir into Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Rhône-style blends.
Plan for a relaxed tasting rather than a quick pour-and-go stop. The food menu and multiple flight options make it worth asking what is showing best that day and letting the tasting move beyond a single style.
