Madroña Vineyards

Winery Overview
Madroña Vineyards is a family-owned Camino winery rooted in three estate vineyard sites: Madroña Vineyard in Apple Hill and Enyé and Sumu-Kaw vineyards in Pleasant Valley. At 3,000 feet in the El Dorado County Appellation, the winery grows more than 26 varieties, including Rhône and Bordeaux grapes, for estate-grown and bottled wines.
The tasting room offers seated flights in a year-round indoor and outdoor setting, with two flights totaling six tastes. Guests can expect a broad look at Madroña’s vineyard-driven range, from Hillside and Signature wines to single-vineyard bottlings, specialty wines, and New-World Port.
Before You Go
Madroña is one of the stronger stops for understanding how varied El Dorado wine can be within one producer. The lineup moves across familiar and less-common varieties, so it helps to think in terms of vineyard sites and collections rather than one signature grape.
Reservations are not required, but calling ahead can help secure a table. Leave time to compare the two tasting flights, especially if you want to see how the Apple Hill and Pleasant Valley vineyard sources show up across the wines.
