Gold Hill Vineyard & Brewery has produced wine from estate-grown grapes since the mid-1980s on 50 acres of well-drained granitic soil above the American River. Its El Dorado plantings range from Chardonnay and Viognier to Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Syrah and Mourvèdre, while an onsite brewery makes traditional beer styles in batches no larger than 200 gallons.
The tasting experience gives visitors access to both sides of the property’s production, with wine and beer available in a setting oriented toward the vineyard and American River Canyon. Guests may bring a picnic, settle onto the outdoor deck and explore the estate’s grape varieties alongside the brewery’s current releases.
