About the Winery
E16 Winery was founded by Robert Jones, who bought El Dorado County vineyard property near road E16 as a return to his family’s winegrowing roots, later shaping the program with winemaker Daniel Moore. The winery spans two wine tracks: E16 Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands vineyards, and Firefall wines from the family’s Baby Rattlesnake Estate Vineyard in Fair Play, where Syrah, Grenache Blanc, and other Rhône and Italian varietals come from a mountain site above the Cosumnes River.
In Somerset, the tasting experience unfolds in a hillside setting along a wooded creek, with a footbridge, shaded terrace, front patio, and subterranean cavern. Guests can expect a side-by-side look at two different sourcing stories in one stop, with North Coast Pinot Noir and locally grown Fair Play wines poured in a setting that feels more layered than a standard tasting bar.

E16 helps if you think of it as two wine conversations happening in one place. One side leans into Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands, while the other comes from the winery’s Fair Play estate fruit under the Firefall label.
A good way to taste here is to compare across those two tracks instead of staying in one lane. Let the setting slow you down a bit, then use the lineup to see how the winery moves between cool-climate Pinot Noir and mountain-grown El Dorado wines.
