About the Winery
Docmanov Vineyards & Winery is a newer family project founded by Miodrag Docmanov in Placerville, with the winery framed on its official site as a tribute to his father, Ioan, and a continuation of family heritage. At 120 Jacquier Court in the Camino area, the estate presents a wide-ranging portfolio that currently includes GSM, Counoise, Cinsault, Negroamaro, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Syrah-based bottlings, and estate rosé, alongside an explicit commitment to bottling wines unfiltered.
The visit appears to lean relaxed and outdoor-oriented rather than formal, with a stand-up tasting bar, picnic tables, a pavilion overlooking the vineyard, and grounds that regional listings associate with views, bocce ball, and dog-friendly use. For guests, that means a tasting experience that combines an unusually eclectic wine list with Camino-adjacent setting that feels easy to drop into for an afternoon rather than tightly choreographed.

Docmanov is a good place to arrive with an open palate because the lineup does not read like a standard single-lane Sierra Foothills menu. Between Rhône-leaning bottles, Italian grapes, aromatic whites, and estate rosé, the tasting may move across very different styles in one visit.
It also looks like a property where the setting is part of the rhythm of the stop, so it makes sense to give yourself enough time to linger outside rather than treat it as a quick counter tasting. If you go, it is worth asking what is estate-designated and what best represents the winery’s unfiltered approach, since that is one of the few production choices they state clearly on their site.
